About Old Mission Capital

How is Old Mission Capital different from other trading firms?

Old Mission Capital’s culture makes it unique. We blend a casual work environment with a focus on continuous learning and questioning. Everyone at the firm is encouraged to take initiative, and we deeply value entrepreneurial team members who look to build systems, strategies, business, and tools which will contribute to the bottom line. Our flat structure and lack of hierarchy means that everyone’s opinion and contributions are valued, and everyone has close access to our most experienced traders and managing partners.

"OMC is relaxed while being focused. There is no pressure to constantly be on edge, at the same time everyone is locked on the task at hand." – Former Intern, Summer 2014

How is Old Mission Capital different from an investment bank?

Old Mission Capital is much younger (started in 2008) and smaller (with roughly 30 full-time employees between our two offices) than a traditional investment bank. Unlike a bank, we don’t have customers, clients, and the corresponding conflicts of interest which accompany these either. Having a small intern class lets us focus on you as an individual without having to impose structure and bureaucracy on your summer experience.

The interview process consists of multiple phone interviews conducted by our firm traders, along with a take-home programming assignment. Your final round interview will be on-site with one of the firm’s managing partners at either our Chicago or New York office.
